I know it was against the Orioles, who are pretty mediocre, but I’m impressed we were able to go into Baltimore and sweep a short 2 game series.

We won yesterday because of solid pitching from Saunders (who is now 3-1, with a 3.41 ERA) and some overall good hitting. The middle of our lineup (Abreu, Hunter, Morales) is starting to produce and is looking pretty formidable. Howie Kendrick is still struggling but slowly getting on track; while Figgins is batting awful but once he gets on base is stealing some bases and scoring runs.

Today we won 3-2, with Shane Loux only giving up one run in 6 innings. Hunter and Morales both hit home runs and Fuentes finally had a 1-2-3 inning for his 5th save. Were currently 9-11, but only 3.5 games behind first. Im hoping that once we get healthy we wont be too far behind and will still have a shot at the division.

Now we have an important 4 game series against the Yankees. We need to take at least two of the games in order to continue to keep pace with the rest of our divsion. Luckily, we’ve owned the Yankees for quite sometime now.
